1989 | Datex Communications Inc was founded. |
1994 | Datex launched its Customer Accounts Receivable System (CARS), based on software that it had developed to enable telecommunication service providers and resellers to create, maintain and view all critical customer information and invoices. This process is known today as our customer lifecycle management. |
1996 | Datex introduced an integrated, web-based version of its customer lifecycle management and billing application. This innovative product, called Internet Customer Accounts Receivable System (iCARS), allowed Datex to increase its market penetration among small-to-mid sized telecommunication service providers. |
1999 | Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE:ACS) ("ACS"), a Dallas-based company, acquired Datex. Operating as a subsidiary of ACS under the name ACS Canada Inc., the business expanded its presence in the United States serving numerous large telecommunication service providers. ACS Canada Inc. carried on its operations until June 2001, at which time the business was re-acquired by the original founders and renamed Datex Billing Services Inc. |
2003 | Datex acquired the assets of a Toronto-based supplier of customer relationship management and billing solutions operating under the name Xtend Software Corporation. Xtend's senior management joined the Datex management team as part of the transaction. |
2006 | Datex was listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange (TSX: DTC-V) |
2007 | Datex acquired the telecom expense management business of Contour Telecom Inc. Founded in 1992, Contour was an outsourced provider of telecom expense management services including consolidated billing, sophisticated cost management and robust reporting. As part of the transaction, senior management joined the Datex management team. |
2007 | Datex acquired the telecom consulting business of Angus Dortmans Associates Inc. Angus Dortmans provides management advisory services to end-user organizations that rely on business telecommunications, networks and contact centers to advance their business goals. As part of the transaction, senior management joined the Datex management team. |
2010 | Datex acquired the assets of Digital Fairway, operating as Commsolv, an OSS vendor in the Carrier, Supplier, Enterprise and Mobile environments. The Datex BSS solution and the Digital Fairway OSS solution are both currently deployed, and integrated, in a production environment at a current Datex client. With this acquisition, Datex now offers a complete end to end B/OSS solution. |
Today | Datex is a leading provider of BSS, OSS and TEM in a variety of divergent vertical markets. |
